Asylum for Silje Garmo officially confirmed

The Office for Foreigners has officially announced that Poland has granted asylum to Silje Garmo and her daughter. This resolution confirms the December decision in the matter made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ordo Iuris lawyers represented the Norwegian before the Polish authorities.

Silje Garmo gets asylum - the success of Ordo Iuris

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has granted asylum to Silje Garmo. The Norwegian, together with her daughter, escaped from her home country to protect herself and the child from the Children's Office (Barnevernet). The lawyers of Ordo Iuris represented Silje Garmo before the Polish authorities in matters related to asylum protection. Thousands of Poles have given their support to the woman by signing a petition on this matter. Polish and foreign media have become interested in the fate of the Norwegian.

At the OSCE conference on pathologies related to the functioning Barnevernet

At the OSCE conference in Warsaw, the Ordo Iuris Institute organized a panel devoted to assessment of the functioning of the Norwegian Child Welfare Agency Barnevernet. Ordo Iuris experts pointed out the need to take steps to protect Norwegians seeking shelter in Poland as well as systemic support for Poles living in Norway today.

Ordo Iuris lawyers applied for asylum for a Norwegian citizen and her 8-month-old daughter

A citizen of Norway fleeing from unauthorized intervention of the Child Welfare Service (Barnevernet) found refuge in Poland. Lawyers of the Ordo Juris Institute submitted on her behalf an application for asylum, indicating violation of international law by Barnevernet. Now, the future of the family depends solely on the decision of Polish authorities.
