Doctor of law, associate professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Białystok. She specializes in civil law, and in particular in intellectual property law. Her PhD dissertation, entitled “Co-creation and its effects on the copyright law” received the award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in the 8th edition of the scientific works competition organized by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland. The thesis was also recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO): the author received the WIPO Award for Creativity in the category ‘Best Intellectual Property Scientific Work’. During her university studies she received a one-year scholarship at the Faculty of Law of Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Germany). She also graduated cum laude from musical studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
Joanna Banasiuk, PhD, represented Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture at the Polish National Committee of the European Citizens’ Initiative “One of us”.
