On Thursday, 12th November 2020, Ordo Iuris Institute hosted the Defending Women’s Rights Conference, opening the series of periodic debates. Two panels, which opened the whole cycle of discussions concerning this subject, dealt with the issue of political and doctrinal context of the discussion on women’s rights, also mentioning the topic of women’s right to health. The main target of the Conference was analyzing the problem of women’s rights in a non-ideological way.
Another initiative has been organised in Europe with the view to globally force the concept of “reproductive and sexual rights”. In addition to radical organisations, including the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), 15 European countries got involved in the Countdown 2030 Europe project. The aim of the initiative is to enhance access to abortion and vulgar sexual education. Although this initiative was not created by all the EU Member States, the Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, has recently declared her support of the initiative.
There are ongoing proceedings at the European Court of Human Rights against Poland, initiated by an application from a woman who was refused an abortion by Doctor Bogdan Chazan.
The UN again is promoting the demands of the LGBT and pro-abortion movements. During the event organised by UN Women, a lot of postulations that were voiced were targeted against the family.
Once again, under the pretext of actions concerning fight with coronavirus, the European Parliament promotes radical demands regarding the promotion of abortion and claims of LGBT activists.
The ongoing pandemic of COVID – 19 prompted the World Health Organization (WHO) to extend the instructions from the interim guide, released on March 25. The updated version from June 1 contains several recommendations, referring to essential medical services, which, according to WHO, have been partly limited due to the pandemic.
