The United Nations has conducted a periodic observance of Poland's implementation of the UN Convention against Torture. The issues examined by the Committee Against Torture, however, have gone beyond the body's task scope.

The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has received 16 complaints against the Norwegian government from parents. They raise the violation of the parents' right to respect for family life. All of them pertain to the actions of the same institution – Norway's child protection agency, Barnevernet.

The employee of the Ikea network was dismissed because of his reply on the company's internet forum to the employer’s ideological agitation, in which he expressed his opinion inspired by excerpts from the Holy Bible.

This has been proved by the case of Silje Garmo, a Norwegian woman who was granted asylum in Poland after she escaped unjustified intrusion into her family life by the Child Welfare Services – Barnevernet.

Sweden issued a European Arrest Warrant for a Russian who wanted to protect his daughters and went with them to Poland. The children were placed in Muslim foster care. The family found shelter in Poland, where they applied for asylum.

The upcoming elections to the European Parliament are an opportunity to summarize the most important activities of MEPs over the last term.
